Our Story
Hey, I'm Brandon, the developer behind List My Closet.
It Started With a Move
Last year, my wife and I were preparing to move. As we started packing, we realized just how much clothing we had accumulated over the years. Boxes and boxes of clothes we hadn't worn in ages, taking up space and collecting dust.
We decided to sell what we didn't need on Vinted. Simple enough, right?
Wrong.
The Problem
After photographing, writing descriptions, and posting just a handful of items, we were exhausted. The thought of doing this for dozens more pieces felt like an insurmountable task. Taking photos, researching brands, writing compelling descriptions, optimizing titles for search... it was taking forever.
So naturally, instead of just powering through it, I did what any developer would do: I started building an app. Naturally, that would take longer than the initial task by a mile, but scope creep is common in our profession.
The Solution
I figured if I could automate the tedious parts—the title writing, the descriptions, the brand detection—we could focus on the easy stuff: snapping a few photos and hitting post.
A few late nights and weekends later, List My Closet was born.
Suddenly, what used to take 10-15 minutes per item took about 30 seconds. We cleared out our closets, made some money, and actually enjoyed the process.
We Weren't Alone
When we told friends about what we'd built, the reaction was always the same: "I need that." Everyone had the same problem—closets full of clothes they wanted to sell, but the listing process was just too tedious to bother with.
That's when we knew this wasn't just a tool for us. It could help anyone who's ever looked at a pile of clothes and thought, "I should really sell this stuff... but not today."
What We Believe
Selling your clothes online should be easy. You shouldn't need to be a copywriter to write a good description. You shouldn't need to spend hours researching keywords. You should be able to snap a few photos and move on with your day.
That's what List My Closet is all about.
